Meet The Practice Owner

Thomas W. Romanus

I believe therapy should feel both human and useful. Clients describe me as present, direct in the kindest way, and deeply attuned to what actually helps between sessions. We’ll clarify what matters, identify the patterns keeping you stuck, and work a plan you can practice in the life you’re really living.

My path to clinical work began in the world of executive consulting and organizational leadership. That experience—working alongside senior leaders, physicians, medical staff and high-performing teams—shapes how I understand pressure, responsibility, and the cost of carrying so much for so long. In session, it translates to empathy for your context and an ability to cut through noise to what moves the needle. Clinical focus: trust repair and intimacy, communication breakdowns, trauma recovery, anxiety and burnout, boundaries and self-leadership, life transitions, and substance-related concerns (CAADC). I integrate evidence-informed approaches—mindfulness-based, attachment- and trauma-aware, and skills-focused modalities—always tailored to your goals and capacity.

How we’ll work together

We’ll set clear goals together, keep sessions structured and purposeful, and use practical strategies you can try between visits—then check in honestly about what’s helping. Whether you’re an individual navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, or transition, or a couple working to repair trust and feel close again, I’ll bring attentive presence, clinical clarity, and deep respect for your story. My aim is simple: care that feels personal and truly useful—so you leave sessions feeling understood and supported, with next steps that make sense.

If this feels like the right fit, I’d be honored to meet you. Schedule a complimentary 15-minute call and we’ll talk through your goals and where to begin. You don’t have to carry this alone.

Starting therapy takes courage, and you deserve a place that meets you with calm, respect, and genuine care. Here, you can set things down without being judged or rushed. We’ll slow the noise together, name what hurts, and make sense of the story your mind and body have been carrying—so relief becomes ease you can feel in everyday moments.

In our work, you’re not a problem to fix—you’re a person to be understood. We move at your pace. We listen for what’s underneath the symptoms: the pressure that won’t let up, the distance that crept in, the grief that lingers, the questions you ask yourself when the house is finally quiet. Sessions are warm, focused, and evidence-informed; you’ll feel both the steadiness of being deeply seen and the practicality of small steps that actually help between visits.

Whether you’re an individual navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma history, or a major life transition—or a couple working through communication struggles, disconnection, or the aftermath of broken trust—we’ll sit with what’s real and build the next right steps from there. Many clients describe a gentle shift: sleeping more easily, fewer spirals, conversations that land, and moments of genuine closeness that feel possible again.

If this sounds like the kind of care you’ve been hoping to find, we’re ready to meet you. Schedule a complimentary 15-minute call to talk through fit, goals, and where you might want to begin. You won’t have to figure it out alone.
